President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 was made aware of the Galaxy Air Traffic Control Automation System (ATC AS), developed by JSC Azimut.
An adviser to the CEO of the Rostec State Corporation, a member of the Board of Directors of JSC Azimut Adil Saidov told Vladimir Putin about the technical characteristics and possibilities of Galaxy, which is successfully used at ATM centres in Russia and abroad.
The use of digital model of the Earth PZ-90.11 for all calculations and the 4D trajectory prediction of aircraft movement allow to implement the high-precision determination of location coordinates of the aircraft in the Galaxy ATC AS, and to operate it without restrictions within the serviced territory. A particular advantage of the system – the ability to be quickly put into operation – significantly exceeds accepted standards. All the application software of the system was developed by Russian specialists, which was realized in accordance with the state program of Russian software production development, supported by the first person of the state.
“In 2017, we are equipping Platov airport in the city of Rostov with the Galaxy ATC AS. Prior to that, the systems were successfully installed in Kazan, Saint-Petersburg, Makhachkala, and other Russian cities and towns. The updated version of the system was designed for supply to foreign customers, in particular to those in Egypt and Indonesia. Serious interest in our equipment is taken by air navigation service providers of the countries of the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region,” said Adil Saidov.
Galaxy meets the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Eurocontrol Agency. Projects in South Korea and the Republic of Armenia were successfully implemented; work is being continued in the Republic of Cuba and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
JSC Azimut is Russia’s by leader the nomenclature of supplied products, and it manufactures almost the entire range of ground-based air navigation equipment.
AT MAKS-2017, a prototype design of an advanced airfield Mode-S radar was presented for the first time. It has an integrated secondary channel and a state-of-the-art automatic dependent surveillance (ADS) system that displays aircraft movement in real-time in Moscow air space at the controller working position.
JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
