At Pechora airport, the Republic of Komi, a non-directional beacon RMP-200 and an automatic direction finder DF2000, produced by the leading Russian developer and supplier of air traffic management equipment JSC Azimut, have been commissioned.
Pechora airport is one of the seven airports in the Republic of Komi, providing the residents of this Northern Urals region with necessary accessibility and communication with other areas of the country. Equipping the aviation hub with aeronautical equipment is carried out in accordance with the Program of Revival of the Komi Republic, which provides for the renovation of the aircraft fleet and upgrading the ground infrastructure. Earlier, under the same programme, JSC Azimut had already equipped Syktyvkar International Airport with a non-directional beacon RMP-200. The non-directional beacon RMP-200 is recommended for use on civil aerodromes and on the airfields of local airlines as one of the means of indicating the landing heading. This equipment, produced by AZIMUT, successfully operates at the airports of the towns of Makhachkala, Bratsk, Norilsk, Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, Chita, and Nizhneudinsk.
The automatic direction finder DF2000 provides for accurate aircraft setting within the sectors where controlled flight routes are through in the terminal area, which allows the controller to determine the direction of movement of the aircraft. A similar instrument, developed by JSC Azimut, is successfully operated at the airports of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kursk, Kurilsk, Kirensk and Pechora.
The branch «Aeronigatsiya Severnogo Urala» (Air Navigation of the Northern Urals) of FSUE «State ATM Corporation» took on the role of the Customer for the commissioning of air navigation equipment. JSC Azimut specialists carried out installation, starting-up and adjustment works, as well as the briefing of operating personnel, ground tests and introductory flight checks.
