Makhachkala was visited by the Air Force representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The foreign customers together with representatives of JSC “ROSOBORONEXPORT” assessed the quality and conducted the acceptance of two landing systems ILS/DME/NL2700 developed by the leading Russian air traffic management equipment manufacturer AZIMUT.
In the course of the visit, the foreign customers were familiarized with the production, technology and automated control system of the Makhachkala branch of JSC AZIMUT, which, for more than 25 years, has been designing and manufacturing the facilities of air traffic control, radio navigation and landing in the interests of all aviation departments. Today, it is the manufacturing centre for the entire range of the Company’s products. The automated control and monitoring is exercised on all product-manufacturing life cycles — from incoming inspection and metalworking to testing assemblies and finished products.
“Our production made a positive impression on the Egyptian partners. The foreign customers saw with their own eyes how and where the equipment, installed in more than 120 airports in Russia alone, is manufactured,” – said CEO at JSC AZIMUT Asker Saidov.
“The production of a new generation instrument landing system ILS2700, equipped with distance measuring equipment DME/NL2700 for the Egyptian customer, was launched in late 2016. The shipment of the products is scheduled for late 2017. The Egyptian partners noted with satisfaction the high quality of the air navigation equipment, paying particular attention to the emphasis laid by AZIMUT on the support of its products: we also provide spare parts, tools, accessories (SPTA) and consumables for all of our products,” – said Mr Saidov.
The contract between JSC AZIMUT and the Egyptian customer provides for the supply of two landing systems ILS/DME/NL2700. The systems are weatherproof, and, in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), are recognized to be non-visual precision approach aids. The system facilitates the pilot to execute the approach and landing in the presence of clouds or low visibility conditions. In addition, AZIMUT experts will carry out the installation and commissioning of the air navigation equipment, and briefing of the Egyptian personnel.
The supply of the instrument landing systems to Egypt is not the only area of cooperation between JSC AZIMUT and the Arab Republic of Egypt. In early 2016, AZIMUT signed a contract with the National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC) of Egypt for the supply of radar facilities and the Galaxy ATC Automation System (ATC AS). The Galaxy is an automated system of a new generation for air traffic control (ATC) centres with low, medium and high flight intensity.
JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
