JSC Azimut together with the Belarusian partner OJSC Agat are to equip Minsk national airport of the Republic of Belarus with an ILS/DME/NL2700 landing system. The Russian manufacturer had won the tender issued by Republican Unitary Enterprise (RUE) «Minsk national airport».
A new generation instrument landing system ILS2700, equipped with the distance measuring equipment DME/NL2700, is a weatherproof one, and, in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is recognized to be a non-visual precision approach aid. The system facilitates pilots to execute approach and landing in the presence of clouds or low visibility conditions.
As part of the first phase of the contract, the specialists of JSC Azimut and OJSC Agat are to carry out the supply of equipment, installation supervision work and briefing the staff. The second phase involves carrying out ground tests and flight checks. They are planned to be completed in November 2018.
The Republic of Belarus is not the first Eurasian Economic Union member state that JSC Azimut has built partnership relations with. Galaxy air traffic control automation system (ATC AS), developed by AZIMUT, successfully operates at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, the Republic of Armenia. Two of the 20 operating airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aktau and Usharal, are equipped with non-directional beacons (NDB) RMP-200, produced by JSC Azimut; and the international airports of Kyrgyzstan, Issyk-Kul and Osh, are equipped with Doppler azimuthal distance measuring equipment DVOR/DME.
JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
