AZIMUT completes preparation for the commissioning of DVOR2000/DME2700 at Petrozavodsk airport

In accordance with the work schedule of the State Committee for preparation for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Karelia, approved by the Security Council of Russia, as part of the second phase of the renovation of Petrozavodsk airport, Azimut JSC specialists installed a Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range DVOR2000/DME2700.

The Company's specialists conducted the installation, commissioning, ground tests and flight checks of the Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range DVOR2000/DME2700. Identical air navigation equipment is successfully operated in many Russian air transport hubs. At the end of 2017 alone, AZIMUT completed equipping the airports of the Northern Urals and a new Platov airport in the Rostov region with radio equipment.

Earlier, while on his working visit to the Republic of Karelia, Deputy Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev attended Petrozavodsk international airport, where he viewed the progress of works on fitting the airport with weatherproof air navigation equipment for aircraft takeoff and landing, produced by Russia’s leading radio navigation aids supplier Azimut JSC.

Also, as the first phase of renovation, Azimut JSC equipped Petrozavodsk airport with an aircraft instrument landing system ILS2700/DME/NL2700.
