The agreement was reached during negotiations with the National navigation service company of Arab Republic, with the signing of the contract for the automation complex of air traffic control «Galaxy» - a new generation of automated systems for air traffic control centers with low, medium and high operations intensity.
The agreement from the Russian side, signed by Director General of JSC «Azimut» Asker Saidov, provides the supply and putting into operation ATC System «Galaxy» to the Cairo National ATC Centre and other five international airports of the country. Also, according to the contract, JSC «Azimut» specialists will conduct training and provide after-sales service. The participation of Russian developers of air navigation equipment in the modernization of Egypt's air traffic system will result the introduction of innovative solutions in the field of air traffic management which will provide a significant improvement of Arab Republic air transport system in capacity, predictability and efficiency. Ministry of Civil Aviation and the National navigation service company of Egypt gave a preference to the Russian manufacturer due to the high quality of produced and supplied equipment that meets all the requirements of the International Association of Civil Aviation (ICAO) and Eurocontrol Agency.
JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
