JSC Azimut and its Cuban partners are to modernize Cuba’s air traffic control system

JSC Azimut took part in the II International industrial exhibition «CubaIndustria 2016» in Havana. At the end of the exhibition, based on the results of the conducted negotiations, a contract was signed between JSC Azimuth and the Cuban company AVIAIMPORT S. A. on performing joint works in order to establish Cuban national system of air traffic control (ATC), RADCON M.

Today Cuba is the largest Caribbean country by population, and over the past 10 years, civil aviation of the Island of Liberty has been demonstrating sustainable growth of air transportation. There are 10 international airports in Cuba; in addition, the national ATC provides air traffic control for international transit flights using the airspace of the Republic of Cuba.

In accordance with the signed contract, JSC Azimut will carry out the transfer of the technology and knowledge for the development of Cuban national ATC system. The Russian company’s experts will hold a training session for Cuban specialists on the overall architecture and detailed description of the main components of the air traffic control system. In addition, JSC Azimut will provide engineering services for the development of the calculation modules of planned four-dimensional trajectories, displaying alerts, and detection of medium-term conflicts, managing air traffic flows for Cuban national system of the air traffic control (ATC), RADCON M.

JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
