The specialists of JSC Azimut, the leading Russian developer and supplier of equipment for air traffic management, conducted negotiations with the management of AEROTHAI, the air navigation service provider of Thailand.
During the negotiations, GALAXY air traffic control automation system (GALAXY ATC AS), successfully operating in the ATS centers of Russia and foreign countries, was presented to the Thai party.
The system enables air traffic controllers on the ground to simultaneously monitor air traffic, process up to 10.000 flight plans, follow up to 4.000 system tracks, and communicate with aircraft crews to ensure the safety and efficiency of flights. Competitive advantages of “Galaxy” are as follows: using calculation data in all processing units, applying the 3D Earth model, the implementation of all automation functions on the basis of 4D scheduled trajectories, the triple redundancy of major components, compliance with the standards of the International civil aviation organization (ICAO) and the EUROCONTROL Agency.
Air traffic is growing not only in Thailand but also throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Therefore, in order to increase the airspace capacity and safety, AEROTHAI is modernizing ATS in Thailand. Thai experts highly appreciated the potential of GALAXY ATC AS and the technical solutions proposed by JSC Azimuth for the control and management of the airspace of Thailand. According to AEROTHAI engineers, the quality of the air navigation equipment manufactured by the Russian producers exceeds by times similar equipment of global companies in the industry.
JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
