The State ATM Corporation team of air traffic controllers, sponsored by JSC Azimut, became the strongest one for the 6th time, having won in the global football tournament among air traffic controllers and pilots of civil aviation.
The competition took place in November, 2016, in Miami, Florida, the USA. In the semifinal, the Russian team beat the tournament hosts, air traffic controllers of the United States, with the score 2:0, and in the final, it beat their colleagues from the team «Europe» with the score 1:0.
The international football tournament, compared to similar competitions on the European continent, dating back some 50 years, is relatively young: the first matches of the World Cup were held in 2011. The purpose of the championship is developing social and professional relationships between air traffic controllers and pilots of civil aviation through football.

Let us recall that the successful cooperation of JSC Azimut and the air traffic controllers’ Sports Club, dealing with organizational issues and staffing teams, began in the spring of 2016. The Russian developer of electronic systems for civil aviation sponsored the Russian team of air traffic controllers in the 49th European Football Cup tournament among air traffic controllers, held in the French town of Reims, from which the Russians brought yet another win.
