A non-directional beacon NDB-200, produced by the leading Russian developer and supplier of equipment in the field of air traffic management JSC Azimut, has been commissioned on one of the 11 aerodromes in the Irkutsk region in the north of Russia, the civil airport of Nizhneudinsk.
The regional airport of Nizhneudinsk, located between the cities of Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk, was re-commissioned in 2013 after several years of preservation, as it has been the base airport for a small ethnic nationality of Tofalaria living on the border with the Republic of Tyva.
The non-directional beacon NDB-200 is recommended for use on civil aerodromes and on the aerodromes of regional airlines as one of the indicator means of landing course. Similar equipment, produced by AZIMUT, successfully operates in the airports of Makhachkala, Bratsk, Norilsk, Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, and Chita.
The Eastern Siberia Air Navigation branch of FSUE State ATM Corporation is the customer of works on commissioning of the air navigation equipment. JSC Azimut experts carried out installation, starting-up and commissioning works, briefing the operating personnel, ground tests and introductory flight checks under the contract.
