Commissioning a Doppler azimuth and distance-measuring beacon DVOR2000 / DME / N2700 produced by the leading Russian developer and supplier of air traffic management facilities JSC Azimut has been completed at the International airport of Belgorod.
The service area of the International airport of Belgorod, which in 2011 became an alternate one for the Moscow aviation hub, includes the Belgorod region and part of Kursk and Voronezh regions. In 2012, a new runway and a lighting system were commissioned here. In 2013, the airport was voted the best in the CIS. In 2016, the passenger flow of the International airport of Belgorod amounted to almost 350 thousand people.
JSC Azimut specialists surveyed the site for the facilities, performed the necessary construction work, installed the beacons, conducted commissioning works and staff briefing. After ground tests and flight checks by a flying laboratory, the radio navigation facilities were prepared to be commissioned. Such beacons produced by JSC Azimut are successfully used not only in Russian airports, but also at airfields abroad.
Preparation for commissioning the air navigation facilities was ordered by the Moscow Centre for Automated Air Traffic Control, the branch of FSUE State ATM Corporation. Under the contract, JSC Azimut specialists carried out installation, start-up and adjustment of the facilities, training the operating personnel, ground tests and introductory flight checks.
JSC Azimut with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control centres.
