AZIMUT completed works on preparation for the commissioning of radio navigation aids at the airport of Petrozavodsk

Works on preparations for commissioning the facilities of air traffic control, radio navigation and landing, produced by the leading Russian developer and supplier of air navigation equipment JSC Azimut, have been completed at the airport of Petrozavodsk.

The new generation instrument landing system ILS2700 is a weatherproof one, and, in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), it is recognized to be a non-visual aid of precision approach. The system facilitates the pilot to execute approach and landing in the presence of clouds or low visibility conditions. Identical radio navigation aids, produced by AZIMUT, are installed at the airports of Volgograd, Vladikavkaz, Anapa, and Ekaterinburg. «In autumn, we equipped a new airport «Platov» in the Rostov region with such equipment.»

Under the contract, JSC Azimut specialists carried out installation, starting-up and adjustment works, as well as the briefing of operating personnel, ground tests and introductory flight checks.

JSC Azimut specialists will install beacon DVOR2000/DME2700 as part of the second milestone of the renovation of the airport of the Republic of Karelia, conducted in accordance with the federal target program for the development of the transport system of Russia until 2020.
