AZIMUT at the 35th meeting of the Eurasia Coordination Council in Baku

From 8 to 11 October, the 35th meeting of the Eurasia Coordination Council (ECC) amalgamating air navigation service (ANS) providers of the CIS countries was held in Baku (Azerbaijan).

ECC was attended by about 100 delegates from 15 countries, including the heads of ANS providers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the following international organizations: ICAO, IAC, IATA, and by industrial enterprises.

During the meeting, the ECC members made reports on the state of air navigation systems of the CIS countries and plans for their further development. Particular attention was paid to the issues of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and their impact on flight safety, the prospects for establishing free routes in the Eurasian region, national strategies in the use of airspace. The meeting noted the importance of harmonization of air navigation support and long-term joint planning between countries, taking into account the need for growth in air traffic.

The meeting was attended by Azimut JSC CEO Asker K. Saidov and Deputy CEO for research and development Viktor V. Solomentsev, who moderated the round table "UAS integration into non-segregated airspace".

During the round table, topical issues of organizing UAS movement, the specifics of organizing the use of airspace and combating unauthorized UAS flights were discussed.
