Commissioning of an Automated Transmitting and Receiving Centre (ATRC) in the Magnitogorsk ATS unit

AZIMUT JSC, a leading Russian developer and supplier of air traffic management equipment, jointly with Almaz-Antey JSC, as part of activity to provide civil aviation with reliable and quality radio communication with aircraft, has successfully fulfilled a work package on equipping the Magnitogorsk ATS unit of the branch "Aeronavigatsiya Urala" (Air navigation of the Urals), FSUE "State ATM Corporation" with a 10-channel VHF-band transmitting and receiving centre.

Despite the restrictions related to COVID-19, installation and commissioning were performed, operating staff was briefed, ground tests of all incoming radio stations and ATRC as a whole were conducted, flight tests of the quality of radio communications were successfully completed.

Thanks to the experience of employees of Azimut JSC, the system solutions developed provided electromagnetic compatibility of equipment on site; and 100% redundancy of radio aids allows for a high level of communication reliability.  According to the results of flight checks, the quality of speech is assessed by air traffic controllers and pilots at all frequencies, routes and at various ranges exceptionally as "Good".   

Azimut JSC with the assistance of the Rostec State Corporation develops, manufactures commercially, and supplies, on a turnkey basis, civil aviation enterprises with the facilities of communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation, as well as develops and implements integrated projects of equipping and re-equipping aerodromes and air traffic control units.
