At the airports of Kaliningrad, Anadyr, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Syktyvkar, Perm and Izhevsk, work is being carried out to replace the legacy SP-90 landing systems that reached the end of their service life with ILS 2700 instrument landing systems manufactured by Azimut JSC.
In July - August 2020, contracts were entered into between Azimut JSC and “Almaz – Antey Air” Space Defence Corporation, JSC for the delivery of eight ILS 2700s. During 2021, the state-of-the-art ILS 2700 equipment will be installed at the branches of FSUE “State ATM Corporation”, which will increase the level of safe air traffic services during aircraft approach in low weather. The ILS 2700 landing systems are also equipped with DME/NL 2700 long-range transponders, which, according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is recognized to be a non-visual aid of precision approach when operating jointly.
“One-time production of part of identical units for a group of contracts will help to offset increase in the prices of components and maintain the previously agreed price level for products, which in the situation with budget cuts at FSUE “State ATM Corporation” will enable maintaining the previously planned volumes of technical re-equipment,” commented Asker Saidov, CEO of Azimut JSC.
