The Anadyr air traffic service centre of the North-East air navigation branch, FSUE “State ATM Corporation”, has commissioned the monopulse secondary radar (MSSR).
This en-route radar position is located on the top of a mountain, off the Bering sea coast, close to the Bering Strait that separates Eurasia and America. The position is unique because it is the easternmost radar position of the Russian Federation. The new en-route radar position will significantly expand the surveillance coverage in the eastern and northern directions, as well as carry out radar control of the airspace over a long section of the state border.
“Successful acceptance tests have confirmed the high performance and operational readiness of MSSR in extremely harsh climatic conditions,” commented Asker Saidov, CEO of Azimut JSC.
