Azimut JSC has successfully completed the first stage of R&D work on the topic "Research, development and approval of ATN (aeronautical telecommunications network) implementation concept using ATN / OSI (open-systems interconnection) models and standards, ATN / IPS (Internet protocols suite), action plan (roadmap) for the creation of ATN, as well as the tactical and technical requirements for the ATN equipment".
As part of the first stage of the R&D, based on international experience, ICAO standards and recommended practices, we developed:
- The concept of implementation of ATN (aeronautical telecommunications network) in the Russian Federation using ATN / OSI (open-systems interconnection) models and standards, ATN / IPS (Internet protocols suite);
- The Action plan (roadmap) for creating a network and introducing services based on it.
As a result of the creation of ATN, new services and applications will be introduced into civil aviation practice, such as controller-pilot data link communications (CPDLC), automatic dependent surveillance - contract (ADS-C), selection of the preferred trajectory for the aircraft during flight operation (4DTRAD), new services for the exchange of meteorological and aeronautical information between aircraft and UATMS operational units.
The R&D work is being carried out as part of the implementation of the Development Strategy of the Air Navigation System of the Russian Federation and the Departmental Project "Digital Transport and Logistics", aimed at introducing digital services in air navigation services for airspace users, harmonizing with neighbouring regions and increasing the transit potential of the national airspace.
