On March 17 and 18, 2022, as part of the urban air mobility (UAM) area being developed, the tests of system and technical solutions of the experimental environment created with the participation of the Moscow government were carried out on the basis of the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

The system and technical solutions of the experimental environment of UAM were developed by a consortium of participants: the Skolkovo Foundation Skoltech, Azimut JSC and Nonprofit Partnership (NP) GLONASS.

During the tests, flights of AeroDronService drones were successfully organized and performed, with the service provided by UAM environment; the interaction of drones with the Jupiter Automation System (AS) developed by Azimut JSC was worked out. The drone was monitored using a 5G mobile communication network (services and system solutions were provided by NP GLONASS and Skoltech). During the tests, the heads of departments of FSUE "State ATM Corporation" were present.

Jupiter AS provides UAM participants, operators and external pilots of drones, the GAM Control Centre with a full range of services under international programmes, including planning of flights of UAM drones, flight information support, registration, accounting, identification, authorization, geo-fencing, surveillance and monitoring of flights, interaction with the UATMS authorities.

The System is also the basic technological solution for the low-altitude air traffic management unit of the intelligent platform called Control System of the Experimental Area Kupol (Dome) being developed as a complex of all necessary technologies for identification, navigation, monitoring and control of unmanned aircraft. In 2021, the complex was presented to the management team of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and UATMS during the demonstration event devoted to the use of large-scale unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) in the Tomsk region as part of an experimental legal regime (https://tomsk.gov.ru/news/front/view/id/77665 .

"The use of drones to solve urban problems is extremely relevant in the conditions of increasing needs for cargo delivery, air taxi, and monitoring. The solutions being developed and tested as part of the creation of the UAM environment will make it possible to organize the effective use of airspace by drones, promptly obtain flight permits, aeronautical and meteorological information, as well as track and control drones via a 5G communication network, and prevent drone collisions," said Alexey Belyakov, Vice President of the Skolkovo Foundation.

"Automation package Jupiter, based on the certified Galaxy system platform, installed in dozens of air traffic service centres in Russia and abroad, meets all flight safety requirements, and is adapted to drone flights and scaled to meet users’ needs," said Viktor Solomentsev, Deputy CEO of Azimut JSC.
