Azimut JSC, part of the State Corporation Rostec, has installed an RMP-200 radio beacon at the airfield in the town of Sasovo, Ryazan Region. The equipment will ensure safe aircraft landing approaches and the transmission of voice messages from air traffic controllers on the ground to the aircraft.
The company installed the equipment and carried out commissioning and testing. Furthermore, during operation, Azimut will provide both warranty and post-warranty maintenance for the product.
"The RMP-200 radio beacon has already proven its reliability and durability. It is in operation across all of Russia—from Kaliningrad to Russky Island in Primorsky Krai. The Russian-made equipment is also operational in countries of the near abroad, specifically at airports in Abkhazia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam," said Alexey Galchenkov, Deputy Director General of Azimut.
The radio beacon is manufactured by the A.M. Breygin Research Institute of Measurement Technology – Radio Engineering Systems (NIIIT-RK), which operates under the management of Azimut. It is designed to determine the heading angle of an aircraft and receive voice messages transmitted over the ground-to-air channel. The RMP-200 is recommended for use at civil airfields and local airline airfields as one of the means for indicating the landing course for aircraft. It can be used as a long-range and short-range radio beacon or as a separate radio station.
