Azimut Equips Grozny Airport with New Navigation Equipment

JSC Manufacturing company Azimut within the Rostec State Corporation, has installed a new-generation AORL-AMI 2700 Surveillance Radar and a DF 2000 Radio Direction Finder at Grozny Airport. The equipment will automate Air Traffic Control, enhance safety, and improve the overall operational efficiency of the operations of the aerodrome.

The AORL-AMI 2700 aerodrome surveillance radar detects aircraft positions better than its compared to its predecessors and also facilitates takeoffs and landings at reduced intervals and distances, thereby increasing airport capacity. The automatic DF 2000 determines the azimuth to an aircraft as soon as it establishes communication.

The equipment has been installed as part of the comprehensive upgrade of Grozny Airport. The surveillance radar and the radio direction-finder have undergone testing and are ready to come into operation.

Azimut will also equip the airport of the Chechen capital with an automated air traffic management system, a "Galaxy" simulator, an ILS 2700 instrument landing system, and an RMP-200 non-directional radio beacon.

Azimut is a leading Russian developer and manufacturer of air navigation systems and complexes for equipping airfields and air routes. The company develops, mass produces, and supplies turnkey solutions to civil aviation enterprises, including communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation equipment.
