Azimut to Equip One of Siberia's Largest Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP) with an Alert System

The manufacturing company Azimut of the Rostec State Corporation will create an alert system for the Irkutsk Hydroelectric Power Plant. This will fully ensure the prompt informing of the personnel and population in the event of an emergency at one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in Siberia.

The comprehensive emergency alert system for population is being created jointly with the company's regional representative, Kapital-Technology Corporation. As part of the project's implementation, products that are part of the P-166M complex of technical alert means, developed by Azimut, will be installed at the facility.

"Creating an alert system is one of the key safety elements at such an important facility for the region's economy as a hydroelectric power plant. It will allow for the instantaneous delivery of clear instructions in the event of a technological accident, which, under HPP conditions, develops within minutes, something that city or regional systems might not be able to do in time. Furthermore, such a system will help cover populated areas adjacent to the HPP and located in hard-to-reach and remote localities where there is no stable cellular coverage or radio," noted Asker Saidov, CEO of Azimut.

The P-166M complex runs on the domestic operating system Astra Linux, and its components are included in the register of domestic industrial products. The solution is used to create the alert systems of population at all levels. Based on it, local networks at industrial enterprises and facility-specific systems for socially significant facilities are created. The P-166M complex has been accepted for supply by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

Azimut's equipment is becoming the foundation for the development of centralized information systems across the country. A number of Russian regions have already implemented or are continuing to implement territorial and regional complexes based on the company's solutions. To date, over 300 industrial potentially hazardous facilities, as well as enterprises of strategic and defense significance, have implemented alert the systems of population using Azimut's equipment.

Furthermore, in early February, Rostec included the P-166M complex in the list of procured equipment. Thus, Azimut has become one of the suppliers whose alert systems can be chosen by enterprises of the State Corporation to equip their production facilities.
