Polyot Chelyabinsk Radio Plant (part of Azimut, a company within the Rostec State Corporation) has delivered an upgraded ASR-1AC (Automated Combined) radar ahead of schedule to the airport in Naryan-Mar, the capital of the Nenets autonomous district. The new equipment enables communication between air traffic controllers and aircraft crews even in challenging climatic and geographic conditions, thereby enhancing flight safety and regional transport accessibility.
The ASR-1AC is an aerodrome surveillance radar designed for use at airports with any flight density. The equipment can track aircraft at a range of up to 400 kilometers.
The upgraded radar features modern electronic components and advanced signal processing algorithms that operate effectively even in complex geographic conditions. Additionally, the radar automatically adjusts to meteorological conditions and terrain.

More than 30 civil aviation airfields are now equipped with our surveillance radars. The specifications of the ASR-1AC, which was installed ahead of schedule in Naryan-Mar, allow for detection, communication, and tracking of aircraft over a greater distance than its analogues. This radar will help aircraft maintain contact with the ground despite the challenging climatic and geographic conditions of the Nenets autonomous region,” said Dmitry Breygin, Acting CEO of the Polyot Radio Plant.
