Azimut, a company within the Rostec State Corporation, has equipped Grozny Airport with the Galaxy automated air traffic control system. The system collects, backs up, processes, and provides air traffic controllers with information on the air situation.
Together with other equipment installed at the airport, the system will improve flight safety and increase the capacity of the transport hub.
Thanks to its modular architecture, Galaxy can be scaled to meet customer requirements by adding operator working positions without making changes to the group servers.
Azimut has also installed at Grozny Airport an integrated controller training simulator, an RMP-200 radio beacon for determining aircraft coordinates and enabling ground-to-air communications, and a TRS 2000 automated transmit-receive center. The latter provides fixed information exchange channels between controllers and flight crews.
Installation, commissioning, and testing of the equipment were carried out as part of the comprehensive equipping of Grozny Airport. Earlier, the airport received a next-generation ASR-AMI 2700 radar and an automatic DF 2000 direction finder.
"Rostec offers customers a wide range of domestically produced equipment for upgrading airport infrastructure. Within the State Corporation, Azimut is a leading developer and manufacturer of such systems. The comprehensive equipping of Chechnya's main airport is one of the company's key projects today. We have already done a great deal of work to provide Grozny Airport with the most technologically advanced and modern equipment. The commissioning of Galaxy is especially important for the republic, given its specific terrain and weather conditions. Together with the previously installed aeronavigation equipment, Grozny now has all-weather navigation, highly efficient flight management, and reliable communications — the cornerstone of aviation passenger safety," noted Asker Saidov, CEO of Azimut.
Azimut is a leading Russian developer and manufacturer of aeronavigation systems and complexes for equipping airfields and air routes. The company designs, mass-produces, and delivers turnkey communication, navigation, landing, surveillance, and air traffic control automation solutions to civil aviation enterprises. It also develops and implements comprehensive projects for equipping and upgrading airfields and air traffic control centers.
