Azimut, a company of the Rostec State Corporation, and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “Research and Production Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems "PROTOS"” have signed an agreement to equip the Ryazan flight test center with a suite of systems to support the testing of new drones and technologies.

As part of the work, an Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system will be installed to monitor unmanned aircraft (UA) flights at the Protasovo airfield and along flight routes. It is also planned to introduce the Galaxy air traffic control system, video surveillance and radar monitoring systems.

“The development of infrastructure for unmanned aviation systems is currently one of the priority areas of work for Azimut. Within the framework of the national project "Unmanned Aviation Systems", by 2030, support networks for design, testing, production, and preparation for certification of UAS are to be established in 11 regions of Russia. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to deploy our solutions in the Ryazan region and participate in equipping the flight test center of our partners from PROTOS. A large and challenging effort now lies ahead to implement this important project,” noted Viktor Solomentsev, Deputy CEO of Azimut.

Additionally, a mobile control post will be set up for real-time monitoring and coordination of UA flights.

“Equipping our flight test center with a suite of technical assets will allow conducting flight performance tests, onboard systems and equipment tests, joint airspace use tests, and beyond visual line-of-sight tests.
